Classroom Policies, Procedures, and Routines
Absences and Tardies
Middle School instruction moves at a fairly quick pace and every absence increases the chance that your student may miss critical instruction and information. Please ensure that you are setting a good example for your child by expecting regular and prompt attendance. If your student must miss a day of school due to illness, please contact the office and remind your student to get all missed assignments when he / she returns. If the absence is planned and cannot be avoided, please let all teachers know as soon as possible. MORNING PRAYERS BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 7:55 in their HOUSE ROOM. ANY STUDENT NOT IN THEIR SEAT, READY FOR MORNING PRAYER BY 7:55, WILL BE MARKED TARDY. Please encourage your student to be considerate of others and NOT interrupt Morning Prayers by coming in tardy. Frequent tardies may result in lunch detention to make up missed work.
Website and Communication
Parents are encouraged to check the Class Website regularly for upcoming events, important information, and for assignments. Students are expected to use the Website to assist in keeping up with assignments and due dates. Reminders will be given, but it is ultimately THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to keep track of his / her assignments and due dates.
REMIND is a text alert system that I use for quick reminders regarding upcoming events and due dates. Your REMIND CODE will be sent home the first day of school. I highly recommend utilizing this free application for up to date information and reminders!
Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or concerns regarding your student. I prefer email. Your child and his / her learning is my priority, so during the school day, I may not be able to get back to you immediately. I will make every effort to address your questions or concerns within a day. If you feel that a conference is needed, please contact me to schedule it for an afternoon after school (I am unavailable on Tuesdays and Thursdays- Band Practice).
